Dear Colleagues

We would like to draw your attention to the AGU23 Fall Meeting and to our
session entitled:
Green Geophysical and Structural Geology Tools in Mineral Systems Research:
Improving Sustainable Exploration
https://agu.confex.com/agu/fm23/prelim.cgi/Session/190081
This session aims to relate local mineral deposits to crustal tectonic
processes that trigger economic concentrations of critical raw materials.
Contributions on structural control, quantitative geological data, and/or
sustainable multi-source and multi-scale geophysical experiments aimed at
building robust exploration models are welcome. (details below).

Please consider submitting an abstract to this session
https://agu.confex.com/agu/fm23/prelim.cgi/Session/190081.

Please forward this announcement to anyone you think may be interested in
the topic areas of this session.

*Session Description*:
*Increasing global demand and dependence on (critical) raw materials needs
new research, exploration, and resource quantification tools. Extending
strategic mineral ores data from fragmented sources to a regional
perspective requires a robust integration of complex geological
information. This session aims to bridge the gap between local, small-scale
mineral occurrences and crustal tectonic processes that trigger economic
concentrations of critical raw materials. Geological processes, unraveled
by structural geology and geophysical studies must show clear relationships
with the generation of strategic mineral deposits (Sn, W, Nb, Ta, Au) and
allow the definition of updated models. In this sense, contributions on
structural control, quantitative geological data, and sustainable
geophysical multisource and multiscale experiments geared to the
construction of robust exploration models will be welcomed. These will help
to develop environmentally sustainable exploration protocols based on less
invasive techniques than the traditional ones.*
