Dear colleagues

We would like to draw you attention and encourage submission to AGU23 Session S011: Earthquake Monitoring: Recent Developments and Challenges in Network Seismology and Geodesy

https://agu.confex.com/agu/fm23/prelim.cgi/Session/188813

Abstract:
Seismic are geodetic monitoring, such as that undertaken by the Advanced National Seismic System (ANSS) and other international monitoring networks, are essential to earthquake and volcano hazard mitigation and response. The data and data products collected and produced by regional seismic and geodetic networks underpin hazard analysis and an expansive range of scientific research. Regional network core actives often include the collection of observations, the near-real-time generation of earthquake catalogs and velocities, early warnings, and shaking intensity estimates. Networks also encounter unique challenges not seen by the broader research community. Here, we aim to foster collaboration between regional network operators, inform the wider community of the challenges within network seismology and geodesy, and look to the future on how to improve monitoring capabilities. We broadly encourage submissions describing new techniques, recent advances, and informative case studies in network seismology and geodesy.
